List of Top Most Expensive BMW Cars

These top 10 BMW cars represent the pinnacle of luxury and engineering. Discover unmatched design, performance, and exclusivity

BMW M1

Car fans could never see the BMW M1 as a flop despite being commercially unsuccessful with just over 450 units produced. It cannot be that way because it has the core values of the traditional BMW thinking combined with technical know-how and sporting achievements all wrapped in an ageless body designed by the famous Italian stylist Giorgetto Giugiaro.

The M1 was highly successful even in the Pro Car series which was world famous for racing. A design classic, the M1 has set benchmarks for many supercars built by German companies and is now considered a great driver’s car.

  • Engine:3.2L inline-six M88/1 straight-six
  • Power and Torque: 273bhp and 330 Nm
  • Mileage: 9.4-6.7 L/100km
  • Fuel type: Premium unleaded gasoline (91 octane or higher)

BMW M760i xDrive

Together with the new BMW M760Li xDrive, the recently launched BMW 7 Series becomes the definite flagship model. The car’s most powerful hoisted engine is a 12-cylinder gasoline one, which is introduced with M Performance TwinPower Turbo technology and can work at any power capacity spending quite well, giving more attention to the model’s top identification.

The BMW M760Li xDrive has the sportiest ride and drive and yet it is the most comfortable. In this, the luxury sedan class has established the standard more than ever before

  • Engine: 6.6L Twin-Turbocharged V12 engine
  • Power and Torque: 600bhp and 850 Nm
  • Mileage: 7.46 km/h
  • Fuel type: Premium Gasoline (91 octane or higher)

BMW X7 M60i

The BMW X7 M60i is a luxury full-size SUV that combines opulence, advanced technology, and formidable performance. As the most powerful variant in the X7 lineup, the M60i is designed for those who demand the ultimate in comfort and capability.

It offers three rows of seating, providing ample space for families or groups, while its high-end materials and cutting-edge features ensure a refined and sophisticated driving experience. The X7 M60i also incorporates BMW’s M performance elements, delivering exhilarating power and handling that belie its size.

  • Engine: 4.4L V8 Twin-Turbo
  • Power and Torque: 523 hp and 553 lb-ft of torque
  • Mileage: Approximately 17 mpg (combined)
  • Fuel Type: Premium Unleaded Gasoline

BMW i8 Concours d’Elegance Edition

At Pebble Beach in 2014, the first showing of the BMW i8 model occurred and this is one of the cars with the highest price tags. It started things off with exclusive paint, upholstery, and components inside out alongside fitted Louis Vuitton luggage sets to boot.

The horsepower electric motor unit that the i8 came with had many miles on it already from being installed in various places throughout prior experiments so nobody expected much more out of its performance.

But somewhere beneath those lightweight carbon fiber panels lay a 1.5-liter three-cylinder gasoline engine whose sole purpose in life was to pump out power meant solely for charging up batteries used by said motors during their operation as part of some kind—albeit not much—of a sports car?

You betcha! One would be hard-pressed to find any other models apart from these specialized open-top Roadster convertibles sold

  • Engine: 1.5L TwinPower Turbo 3-cylinder gasoline engine
  • Power and Torque: 228 hp and 232 Nm
  • Mileage: Combined: 72 mpg-US (3.3 L/100km)
  • Fuel type: Premium unleaded gasoline (91 octane or higher)

BMW 3.0 CSL

The 2024 BMW 3.0 CSL is a celebration of the M Performance department’s 50th anniversary and the E9 3.0 CLS of the 1970s. This one is going to be based on an existing model (the M4), but it will have better graphics and more of a race car look. There are only going to be 50 of the 2023 3.0 CSLs made with each costing $750,000 (₹6.2 Crore) which makes it the most expensive car ever.

  • Engine: 3.0L Twin-Turbocharged S58 inline-six
  • Power and Torque: 560 bhp and 549 Nm
  • Mileage: 11.01/100 Km
  • Fuel type:  Premium unleaded gasoline (93 octane or higher)

BMW Alpina V8 Roadster

Though it may not come to India, BMW’s performance model range would be incomplete without a 2003 BMW Alpina Roadster V8. As much as electric SUVs continue to dominate the market, classic roadsters are always best suited for use in the countryside. The Alpina V8 used a regular V8 engine rather than the Z8 M Division’s engine.

Additionally, this vehicle had an advanced, automatic gearbox, and more luxurious interior materials, and it was limited to just 555 units. The fact that the Alpina V8 roadster is much more expensive than the Z8 is justified now that Z8 prices are on an upward trajectory.

  • Engine: 4.9 L S62 V8  and 4.8 L M62 V8
  • Power and Torque: 381bhp and 520 Nm
  • Mileage: 20.0-10.8 l/100 km
  • Fuel type: Premium gasoline ( 91 octane or higher)

BMW 2002 Turbo

One of the first production cars to come equipped with a turbocharger was the BMW 2002 Turbo. It was launched in early 1973. During the launch, a turbocharged powerplant came equipped with a 2002 Turbo with several distinctive visual changes that were never seen before. Theoretically, the 2002’s 150 MPH was a real Autobahn missile, but then again no average BMW customer could buy it because of the oil crises in the early 1970s and its exorbitant cost.

  • Engine: 2.0L I4 turbocharged with KKK blower
  • Power and Torque: 170bhp and 240 Nm
  • Mileage: 16.9-11.5 l/100 km
  • Fuel type: Premium gasoline (91 octane or higher)

BMW M5 30 Jahre 2014

BMW has worked hard to develop an exceptional model of its current fifth generation car which would stand out in terms of performance among other cars of the same series. The BMW M5 30 Jahre Edition (30 years of the M5) will be sold in a global production run limited to 300 units only.  It looks much more dynamic and attractive as compared to its ordinary versions.

Its striking BMW Individual Frozen Dark Silver metallic paintwork accentuates the perfectly sculpted body of the BMW M5’s muscular form. The kidney grille surround, front wing gills bearing the ‘30 Jahre M5’ symbol, door handle inserts, and twin exhaust tailpipes all come in a black chrome finish. The same can be said about its 20-inch bi-color M light-alloy wheels.

  • Engine: 4.4L V8 Twin-Turbocharged S63B44T0 engine
  • Output and Torque: 600bhp and 700 Nm
  • Mileage: 9.9 l/100 km
  • Fuel type: Premium Unleaded Gasoline

BMW M3 E46 GTR V8

The 2001 BMW M3 GTR GT (E46) is a racing car that is based on BMW’s M3 E46. The M3 GTR GT got an edge over the Porsche 911 GT3-R due to a superior upgraded engine which made it win seven out of ten GT events in the 2001 season. BMW made ten street-legal models of GTR with each car requiring at least 100 units and 1,000 engines. However, new regulations forced them to pull out the M3 GTR from the upcoming American Le Mans Series season.

  • Engine: 3.2L inline-six engine
  • Power and Torque: 450bhp and  365 Nm
  • Mileage: 4-6 miles per gallon (mpg)
  • Fuel type: Premium Unleaded Gasoline

BMW M8 Competition Convertible

The convertible top adds an element of freedom and elegance, making it perfect for those who want to enjoy the driving experience in style. The M8 Competition Convertible is designed for those who seek the highest level of performance without compromising on luxury.

  • Engine: 4.4L V8 Twin-Turbo
  • Power and Torque: 617 hp and 553 lb-ft of torque
  • Mileage: Approximately 15 mpg (combined)
  • Fuel Type: Premium Unleaded Gasoline
